United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF)

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, to build a better world for everyone.

In Jordan, UNICEF, in close collaboration with the Government of Jordan and the civil society strives to provide all children the best start to life, a quality education, and protection from violence; as well as empower adolescents and youth with life skills and opportunities to engage and contribute positively to society, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable girls and boys in the country.

The UNICEF Jordan Country Programme is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Working closely, UNICEF contributes to furthering child rights in Jordan towards achieving national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals. UNICEF Jordan will continue to work towards ‘No Lost Generation’, ensuring the protection, education and future of children affected by the Syrian crisis.
