UN Day 2014

The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Jordan and its partners celebrated the 69th Anniversary of the UN with the UN Day event under the “Delivery as One” theme, shedding light on the important humanitarian, development and resilience achievements of the UNCT in Jordan to raise stakeholder awareness on the importance of coherence in the UN interventions.

Members of the Diplomatic Missions, National and International Organizations, Civil Society Organizations and Private Sector Companies in Jordan joined the United Nations family in this event under the Patronage of HRH Princess Basma bint Talal and the attendance of H.E Mr. Nasir Judeh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate.

The programme included a video message from the UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon, remarks by the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Jordan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate and HRH Princess Basma bint Talal.

The event was concluded with a country specific photo exhibition depicting humanitarian, development and resilience work done by the different UN agencies in Jordan.
